Why try doing Yoga daily?

After you finish a good Yoga session, one that is right for you, your mind and body feel both at peace and re-energized, ready to tackle whatever is next on your to-do list. Then you move on with your day and oftentimes it will be a while before you come back to Yoga.

Now imagine, how would it feel to experience that post-practice feeling everyday. What could you do in your life?

You already know the benefits Yoga brings for your body and mind. But there is more that Yoga has to offer.

If you can bring Yoga to your life more frequently, you will start to notice its transformative potential cascading in many other areas of your life:

1) You’ll surprise yourself with new habits

Habits that seemed impossible before are suddenly easier to build.

Once you have a good Yoga habit in place, your new strength, energy, and positive mindset will help you tack on other good habits and routines you want in your life.

2) You’ll start making healthier choices

Because the power of feeling better will eventually outweigh the power of ‘bad’ habits, you will start opting for healthier choices that nourish your body as well as the mind better.

3) You’ll be able to start reaching for your goals

With renewed sense of wellness, you’re bound to manage your time better and be able to dedicate more of it towards some of your life’s goals that might be on the back burner right now.

Does your mind have objections to considering doing Yoga daily?

You might be thinking that there is no way you could do Yoga daily.

You don’t have the time, you don’t know what you’d do on the mat each day or there are simply too many other things keeping you busy.

You might even think it would be selfish to dedicate that much time to yourself.

Before you decide daily Yoga practice is simply not an option for you, I challenge you to do this 1 minute practice:

One minute mindset practice

1) Visualize

For a moment, think about where you want to be in 6 months.
Ask yourself each question in turn. Just close your eyes and let the answers come.

  • How do I want to feel in my body?

  • How do I want to feel in my mind?

  • What life goals will I be able to start working on if my body and mind feel better?

  • How would I show up better for myself and others if I felt that way?

2) Put your vision in practice

Return to your visualization of how you could feel each morning and commit to taking any step that day to get closer to it.

With your destination in mind, it will become easier to use the vehicle of Yoga every day.

Even with just 2 minutes of breathing or 1 Yoga pose, you are in forward motion, saying yes to the importance of getting where you want to be.

You will see results of regular practice early on. It is easy to trust in something you already know is good for you, so trust in Yoga.

The hardest part about building any routine is getting started, so be kind to yourself with the ups and downs.

You will start enjoy the benefits of taking care of your needs and goals more and more and soon you’ll wonder why you ever thought it was so hard to get started in the first place.
